Growing up in an Afghani and Pakistani home, traditional roots have forever been instilled in me. Since my childhood my favorite forms of feeling protected have always been by carrying a Nazaar amulet or having my mother burn Esphand throughout our house (and to fan the smoke right onto my face). But when esphand wasn't readily available for smudging, having the eye amulet always brought the same sense of protection. To me, not only does the eye provide protection from the negative energies that surround us, but it provides a sense of confidence knowing that we are invincible and no hate that is thrown our way can affect us.  Being raised around my mothers love for jewelry, afghan folklore, and stories about the magical Aghani Mountains full of emeralds and rubies led my art loving self to find a way to share a piece of me and my world with the rest of the earth. Now we're here. I hope you find a piece of yourself here too.

Love. Light. Happiness. - Moona 

Having parents from two different countries landed me a very unique name that took me nearly twenty years to finally accept and appreciate. Taking a spin on my first name that I regretfully avoided for so long, we now have Moona. And of course, moon shaped jewelry, gems, and henna are to be expected. 

My love for art brought me to my first passion, Dentistry. I am also a  Dental Hygienist who strives to provide optimal care and confidence in the operatory and I bring that same sense of care to Moona. You may see Tooth Gems here which should make sense now. What a joy it's been mixing my love for jewlery with my love for dentistry - I hope you love it too.
